There is no failure. Only feedback.

Great infographic from the fine folks at Elliance. What struck me about this graphic is the indication that “thought leaders with a robust knowledge base” (i.e top of the pyramid) should start a blog or a twitter stream to promote themselves. Seems impersonal. Perhaps there’s a better way…

You can talk all day, and say nothing

Another great infographic showing the inverse relationship between communication innovation and intimacy.

We hear from a lot of people via email, but I always found that personal conversations that I have with people when I meet them at conferences or whatever are a lot more valuable, so this is kind of a way to sort of do that.

Great infographic on communication intimacy. Given the popularity of Twitter and Facebook as a means of communication, are we heading in the wrong direction?

The telephone book is full of facts but it doesn’t contain a single idea.

Why is this so hard?!?

That’s the question I asked myself while doing consulting work for a startup in Seattle. My job: talk to 10-15 of their users to explore the validity of a new initiative. The outcome: some incredible feedback. The problem: setting up calls with 15 people spread across four timezones is like herding butterflies.

Enter cliche: like any good entrepreneur, I figured there “must be a better way”.

Enter beer: like any good biz guy, I figured a few beers would help me convince my buddy to throw together a prototype.

So where’s all this going? We’re working on a simple app that we hope makes it as easy to talk to Jeff Bezos as it is to talk to your mother. As easy to talk to your politician as it is to talk to your neighbor.

Sincerely,
